Old North and South Pine Road

Location: Brendale, Queensland
Client: SPG Developments

SCOPE

This project involved major civil infrastructure upgrades at Old North Road and South Pine Road, including the construction of two new signalised intersections and significant utility and drainage improvements to support increased traffic capacity and long-term network performance.

The scope of works included demolition, earthworks, extensive drainage upgrades including new stormwater lines and extensions to existing 1200×2400 culverts, shotcrete works, watermain reticulation, traffic signalisation, lighting, gravels, asphalt surfacing, concrete pavements, medians, footpaths, concrete lined drains, landscaping, and linemarking.

Key project deliverables included:

  • Two new signalised intersections
  • Watermain realignment works
  • New stormwater infrastructure

A key challenge of the project was maintaining construction activities along Old North Road and South Pine Road, which carry more than 18,000 vehicles per day. Additional complexities included managing unsuitable subgrades, maintaining safe pedestrian access, and coordinating stakeholder requirements throughout delivery.

Through detailed staging and strong project coordination, the works were successfully delivered while minimising disruption to road users and surrounding stakeholders.
